Please note that our website www.wyvernseaangling.org has been updated with the fish of the month results from December. Take a look to see if your club members have won anything?
Any wyvern clubs that would like to join in with this event* should send the £10 entry to Mike Spiller. All cheques make payable to the wyvern division.

* All our events are currently on hold during lockdown.
If only !!!
Please respect the advice that has been given, good to be able to go LOCAL fishing.
Our Wyvern fish of the month and photo competitions are up and running again. Please note, to all wyvern club fish recorders, please make sure on entering our competitions you fill in the registration forms correctly. This means a full postal address of the captor and correct location of capture. If either is missing the form will be thrown out and not be entered. This information will be thoroughly checked to make sure anglers are sticking to their local areas only to fish.

Hopefully all clubs will be checking on their members catches.
Please remember we are all in this together.

Copied from someone elses post but so sad. Phil worked hard in his time for all anglers plus the Wyvern Division.
RIP

*********************

Today it is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing ofPhil Hyde (Phil the fish) to those of you that was of the old guard of the sea angling world (National Federation of Sea Anglers) and the AnglingTrust.
Phil was one of the first coaches of game and sea fishing Phil also instigated the take five litter campaign for Angling Trust he was also a surfcasting coach which to his fame taught the late great Dennis Retter one of the greatest casters of the World championships he also managed the England Home Nations Youth Team at one time.
Phil passed away peacefully on the 26th November five days short of his 72nd birthday of Pneumonia. Phil leaves behind his wife Jo who alongside Phil has and still dose work tirelessly for the benefit of anglers UK wide .

Rest in peace Phil

Had a little bit of intrest recently with clubs wanting to know how they can join up with us at the Wyvern Marine Region.

First things first your club would need to join up with the Angling Trust as a member club. Prices vary on how many members you have affiliated to your club. If you would like some prices check out the new A T website or message us through here.

Have a look around our website using the link below. Any questions, dont be afraid to ask us.

A reminder to all Wyvern clubs and their fish recorders. The £10 entry for the Castle Trophy and fish of the month events is due on the 1st October 2020. This should be paid before any fish are entered. Any payments please make payable to "Wyvern Division "
Please remember all fish should be caught within our bounderies. These are Brean Down/River Axe to Crackington Haven up on the north coast. The south coast bounderies are Weymouth stone pier down to the East bank at Looe. Please note boats are allowed to leave weymouth but shore finishes at the stone pier side.
More than ever we need to get this message across.
How true.
Enjoy. But be careful.
Such a shame for the Torbay Festival.
Useful read from the local IFCAS office on selling of fish.
More importantly they are currently looking at changing the potting permits for the live Wrasse fishery that we have locally in the Devon and Severn District. For those that don't know, there are 480 special marked pots operated currently by four boats (120 each) for catching live Wrasse. The IFCAS would like to remove the Rock Cook Wrasse from the catch list. Anyone intrested should contact D and S and tell them what you think about this amendment.
Don't forget. Stay at home and save lives.
Easy peasy.
Please respect.

Still a little confussion over the Spurdog weights that Wyvern are using for it's own internal events like fish of the months and the photo comps via our face book page. Please see attached. These were voted on at our AGM in November and brought in.

Please note the the A T specimen weights remain as per published for each area. Wyvern decided that some area weights are too low but no weights where to be changed within the AT until possibly December 2020.
One for the diary.
The wyvern presentation evening will be on the 25th January at the RBL, Alphington, Exeter. 8pm start. All our winners will collect their awards from 2019.
There will be a 30 minute presentation from the local IFCAS officers followed by the presentation. The evening will end with a buffet and raffle.
Everyone welcome and it is hoped all winners can come along and pick up their awards in person this year.
Looks intresting.

Well done to all 148 anglers who signed on today. Full results out in the next few days.
Looking good at the wyvern open at slapton today. Just over 150 signed in today.
Last post about the wyvern open on sunday. Winds from the south west on sunday so perfect for slapton. Should be a great competition as normal. Sign on from 11am and the end markers will be in position by just after 10am. Cheaper parking on offer for the whole day, more details at the sign on. A 4 hour ticket will last you all day but you must display our slip of paper from the sign on.
Just under a week to go for this great event. Please support your local Wyvern Region's open shore on the 5th.
Cheaper parking has also been arranged this year on the day in the main car parks. Look out for car window slips at the sign on table. You will need one to get the discount.
Please can we ask you all to share this post or even better just copy the poster to your profile and share it.
Hope to see you all at the sign on.
Don't forget to pop this one in your diary.
